FBR Crosses Rs 2 Trillion Tax Collection Figure

ISLAMABAD:  Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has achieved yet another milestone on Monday by crossing revenue collection figure of Rs 2 trillion, a month earlier than last year

The main commodities of imports during September, 2022 were petroleum products (Rs. 168,266 million), petroleum crude (Rs.103,825 million), palm oil (Rs. 96,673 million), natural gas, liquified (Rs.78,433 million), plastic materials (Rs. 47,429 million), iron & steel (Rs.40,657 million), medicinal products (Rs.38,971 million), raw cotton (Rs.28,699 million), iron & steel scrap (Rs.27,172 million) and wheat unmilled (Rs.22,560 million).

While FBR has amended SRO 693(1)/2006 through an SRO1930 (1)/2022 issued 

According to the revised regime of additional customs duty by FBR , the additional customs duty would be applicable on the import of Vehicles parts as seat parts made of foam, head/ armrests and seat frames, air cleaner hoses and water cooling system hoses (except turbo system hoses) for vehicles falling under the specified Pakistan Customs Tariff heading.

The additional customs duty would also be applicable on the import of air cleaner hoses and water cooling system hoses (except turbo system hoses) for vehicles.

The additional customs duty would also be applicable on the import of fan pulley for vehicles of certain PCT headings; rear combination lamp/ backup lamp/ rear turning indicator/ plough lamps/ reverse light/ parking light for vehicles; ceiling lamp/ room lamp for vehicles and wiring sets and cable sets for vehicles of specified PCT headings.

However, Federal Board of Revenue has received a number of representations from various Tax bars, businesses and other
stakeholders on the issue of non-availability of refund adjustment tab in the return forms available in the Iris,
an online portal of FBR for return filing.

In order to ensure smooth filing of returns and to improve ease of doing business and decrease cost of compliance
of taxpayers, Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has enabled refund adjustment tab in the return forms,said a press
release issued here on Tuesday.
