Govt Announced Rs.5 Bln Ramadan Relief Package For 2023

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan government announced a Rs 5 billion ramadan relief package 2023 to provide maximum assistance to the country’s poor during the holy month of Ramazan.

Minister for Industries and Production Syed Murtaza Mahmud stated at a press conference that the federal government’s top priority is to protect the people from hardship and inflation.

He stated that ramadan relief package 2023 would be in effect beginning today (March 21) and continuing until the end of the holy month. He stated that the Utility Stores Corporation is already subsidizing the public’s purchase of five essential food items on behalf of the Federal Government.

Government announces fuel package relief for low-income families The PM has expanded the scope of the ramadan relief package 2023 by increasing the number of subsidized items to 19 in order to make it easier for the public.

Flour, ghee, sugar, cooking oil, tea, dates, besan, dal mash, dal mong, milk, drinks, and spices are among the items that will be provided at reduced prices.

While giving insights regarding the bundle, the USC official expressed that to make the most common way of acquiring endowment more basic and straightforward it has been separated into two sections, focused on and general.

He stated that the general subsidy would benefit the entire nation, while the targeted subsidy would only be available to Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) users.

Ghee costs Rs 300 per kg, sugar costs Rs 70 per kg, and flour costs Rs 400 per 10 kg bag under targeted subsidies.

A 10 kg bag of flour costs Rs. 648, while a 10 kg bag of sugar costs Rs. Rs. 490 per kilogram for ghee, respectively.

White gram, super basmati, sella, and broken rice receive a subsidy of Rs 20 from the USC.

Gram flour will receive a subsidy of Rs.50 per kilogram, and spices will also receive a discount of 10%.

He added that there will be a subsidy of Rs. 100 per kilogram for tea, Rs. 50 per kilogram for dates, Rs. 30 per liter for milk, and Rs. 30 per bottle for beverages.

It is important to note that, in addition to flour, sugar, and ghee, all other subsidized goods will be provided at the same price to general and targeted subsidy users. In addition, Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has made available to the people of Islamabad a free package of flour. The ramadan relief package 2023 put together by the USC Islamabad District Administration in conjunction with distribution points and utility stores that have set up in various parts of Islamabad.

The poor and deserving families who are registered with the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) will receive this free supply of flour.

The first bag of 10 kg will be given to each registered family, and the remaining two bags will be given to them after seven days.

Every registered household will receive three bags of 10 kg of flour for free throughout the entire month of Ramazan.

The registered households of the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) have already received an SMS notification.

To receive the free flour bag, registered households only need to present the original National Identity Card; they do not require OTP.

A person can visit the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) offices or send a text message to 8171 with their National Identity Card to see if they are eligible for this package.
