What Amazon Going To Do With Their 9,000 Workers Jobs ?

CEO of Amazon Andy Jassy, on monday announced that  the jobs of 9,000 workers  will be eliminate, as eariler amazon a millions of products selllers site made the announcement to eliminating approximately 18,000 positions as part of a major effort to cut costs at the e-commerce giant. This led to the latest round of layoffs.

According to Jassy, the latest round of layoffs will occur in the coming weeks and will primarily affect employees in the following divisions: Advertising, Twitch, People Experience and Technology Solutions (PXT), and Amazon Web Services

While the company CEO Jassy went on to say, “Some may ask why we didn’t announce these role reductions with the ones we announced a few months ago.” The short answer is that not all of the teams completed their analyses by late autumn; also, instead of hurry through these appraisals without the proper industriousness, we decided to share these choices as we’ve made them so individuals had the data quickly.”

Amazon’s most recent layoffs come amid a string of job cuts in the technology sector over the past few months due to pandemic-induced demand for digital goods and services and general uncertainty in the economy.

During the early days of the pandemic, Amazon, like a number of other Big Tech companies, rapidly increased its workforce. “Made sense given what was happening in our businesses and the economy as a whole,” Jassy wrote in a Monday post. However, he added, “We have chosen to be more streamlined in our costs and headcount in light of the uncertain economy in which we reside and the uncertainty that exists in the near future.”

In addition to the 11,000 layoffs announced late last year, Facebook-parent Meta announced this week that it would be laying off an additional 10,000 employees.
