ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s annual wholesale inflation eased to 38.6% in July of 2022, from a record high of 38.9% in the previous month.
Amid a slowdown in prices of agriculture, forestry & fishery (23.3% vs 34.3% in June) and metal product, machinery & equipment (28.1% vs 30.1%).
Meanwhile, costs continued to accelerate for other transportable goods (86.1% vs 85.5%); food, beverages, tobacco, textile & leather products (22.7% vs 22.5%) and ores/minerals, electricity, gas & water (27.3% vs 10.1%).
On a monthly basis, producer prices increased by 2%, following an 8.2% jump in the previous month.
