US To Become Largest LNG Exporter (Read Full Report)

Angelina LaRose, the US Assistant Administrator of the Energy Information Administration, stated that when additional liquefaction train facilities come online at a Freeport LNG plant in Texas, the United States will become the largest exporter of liquefied natural gas (LNG).

LNG is produced by liquefaction trains in preparation for export.

During a panel discussion that took place on Wednesday and was host by the Wilson Center, LaRose state that, “Once the Freeport trains are back online, we are the world’s largest exporter of LNG.”

LaRose, on the other hand, point out that the US export capabilities are severely restricted by capacity constraints.

A fire destroyed the LNG export facility of the company in Texas in June of last year.

The amount of natural gas flowing to Freeport’s LNG export facility in Texas, as reported by US media earlier on Wednesday, was on track to reach its highest level since it shut down last month.

According to the report, the company has likely started the third of three liquefaction trains at the facility because of the increase in gas flow to the plant.
