Tea Imports to Pakistan Reduced By 6.54% In 08 Month

ISLAMABAD : Pakistan Imports 159,552 metric tons of tea worth $396.449 million between July and February of 2022 and 2023, Reduced by 6.54% In 08 months or 177,613 metric tons  of worth $423.857 million during the same time last year. PBS reported

Spice imports decreased by 34.31 percent during the period under review, reaching 102,898 metric tons worth $104.158 million compared to 102,869 metric tons worth $158.560 million during the same time last year.

The imports of dry fruits and nuts decreased by 43.43 percent during the time under review, reaching 35,448 metric tons and a value of $26.895 million, compared to 70,045 metric tons and a value of $47.702 million during the same time last year.

However, during the time under review, the country as per pakistan imports data imported over 2.202 million metric tons of unmilled wheat, worth $875, up 16.36 percent.

919 million were imported, compared to 2.094 million metric tons worth $752.765 million imported during the same time last year.

It is important to note that food group exports from the country decreased by 6.08 percent during the last eight months of the current fiscal year compared to the same period last year. Food products worth $3.226 billion were export between July and February of 2022 and 2023, compared to $3.434 billion exported during the same time period last year.

In contrast, in February 2023, food imports decreased by 12.25 percent year-over-year compared to the same month last year. Food items were import for $703.774 million in February 2023, compared to $801.981 million in that same month last year.

However, as per

pakistan imports data food imports increased by 3.98 percent in the final eight months of the current fiscal year, when the country spent $6.687 billion on food imports to meet local needs, compared to $6.431 billion in imports during the same time last year.
